Firstly, you don't need to have read IL LUPO in order to read KILL AND CURE, everything you need is within the pages of this gripping book. Of course, don't let me stop you from reading them in order, but it's not totally necessary.

Kill and Cure picks up where Il Lupo left off, and it introduces a new level of threat to the wellbeing of Charlie and Nick, as they seek salvation. Ernest Wainwright and Connie are back, as is Maria Esposito, and Agatha and Garrow as you've never seen them before.

Additionally, we have the introduction of Maverick Mitchell. You might remember Ernest visited a friend at the British Museum in Il Lupo? Well, that was Maverick, and he plays a part in this thriller.

We also meet Dr George Waggner (yes, that is how he spells his surname, it's a homage to the director of The Wolf Man of 1941). George is a research scientist who own a private clinic deep in the Black Forrest. He's... ambitious!

And I know many of you are desperate to find out the truth behind the sad loss Ernest suffered, the loss of his wife Annabel. Well, in Kill and Cure, you'll find out all about it, I promise!

Here's the blurb from the back cover:

Charlie Mortimer is a werewolf. There are three ways he can be cured: the first is unavailable due to circumstance; the second necessitates his own death; the third, and most dangerous, requires him to find a vampire, and take its life to save his own.

Charlie is supported in his quest by a retired history teacher, a grieving and self-medicating friend, a Harley Street psychiatrist, a critical thinker from the Amalfi Coast, and a witch from the Highlands of Scotland. Together they are formidable, but will they be enough to take on a crew of London gangsters, under the leadership of one of Satan's children? Or maybe there is another way after all!

The sequel to Il Lupo, Kill and Cure is a distinct story in its own right, yet follows in the footsteps of its predecessor. Expect more thrills, more cliff-hangers, and more twists and turns, as Charlie, Frobisher and the rest face seemingly insurmountable odds.

New Characters

We are introduced to a number of new characters in Kill And Cure, who actively support or antagonise our anti-heroes.

Philippa Jones is the CFO of the J Frobisher Coffee Company. She is a powerful player in the board room, and Nick relies on her to keep the business in good shape while he's off adventuring. Philippa is a stickler for propriety however, and she does not approve of Nick's methods of dealing with his grief. Nick believe Philippa wants him out so that she might take on the role of CEO.

Maverick Mitchell is an old friend of Ernest's. In Il Lupo, Ernest went to the British Museum to meet with a friend, that friend was Maverick. Maverick is from the United States, and holds a position on the staff at the British Museum. He is also an expert in Vampire lore. Watch out for a reference to Werewolf The Podcast, Episode 105 (you may need to go and download that if you are to spot it).

Frankie runs the nightclub Samsara Nights. He's fresh into town and looking to establish himself quickly. Hailing from New York, Frankie is a powerful gangster and a powerful physical being. He drinks, he smokes, he takes drugs, he is aggressive, and Frankie is a vampire!

Ash came to the UK to run the bar in Samsara Nights. She and Frankie go back a ways, and she is his right hand. Unlike her boss, however, Ash is beautiful, and attractive, and charming. Ash could be an incredible ally... if Frobisher can avoid insulting her too often!

Dr George Waggner (you might need to Google that name to pick up all the references to other werewolf genre works) is a scientist who lives and works in his own private clinic hidden in the depths of the Black Forest in Germany. George continues the work of his father pursuing a cure for cancer, which he believes he is very close to. George and Ernest have history!
